The transformation of this two-story loft into a contemporary, stylish dwelling with an industrial edge is based on full of light, spacious environment and the pure sensation of row concrete structures framed in trendy black metal.

The design team – Juraj Hubinský, Kuklica x Smerek Architekti – followed the modern trend of turning ex-industrial buildings (beautiful examples of which we have discovered for you through the years) into an amazing and creative home. Using the entwinement of expressive, modern materials – concrete, wood, and thin metal defiles – they composed honest, ascetic, and edgy palette. Located in Bratislava, Slovakia this stylish home project offers multiple trendy solutions for urban lifestyle set in monochrome and light color selection.

An unusual spatial configuration underlines the unique character of the former industrial space turned into a home- the entrance level of the loft hosts the bathroom and master bedroom premises with the added sparkle of mirror-clad closed and storage unite. The ascetic bedroom ambiance can be concealed behind the warm textural element of floor-to-ceiling curtains. The exposed metal railing and piping of bathroom and closed composition are in juxtaposition with the solid, organic presence of the wooden ceiling beams- dynamic dialog with a modernistic edge.

A trendy metal staircase leads to the upper level were the kitchen, living, and dining rooms are situated. A leveling (with some stylish row concrete steps) separates the food zone from the cozy living room arrangement. Here, in a sink-in niche, the comfortable and trendy modular sofa configuration offers a warm nest midst the roughly poured concrete structures and black metal frames. Connected to the living room, a terrace with a view of the Carpathian Mountains offers a fresh space for reflection and relaxation.

The kitchen (also fallowing the latest trends in modern food preparation zones’ design) is not only connected in open-floor configuration with the rest of the social areas, but its décor is decided in elegant black coloring and clear-lined décor elements. Throughout the whole loft’s design, the accent on raw and ascetic modern aesthetics is not only a reflection of the character of the industrial location but is also a dynamic modern expression of a lifestyle choice – intriguing, pure and stylish.
